Sohaila Kapur (Director)
The first play that Sohaila had everwritten, a musical theatrical Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan, premiered at the prestigious Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh in 2002, after which it was invited by the Arts Council of England to a 6 city tour of Britain. The play won the Herald Devil awards and had previews in The Herald, The Scotsman, Visiting Arts and The Edinburgh Evening News. Subsequently it had a successful tour of Singapore.
It premiered in India in December 2008 as a new production, under the title, Mahim Junction (though with the same script) and has had several shows since then in Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai (one show was performed for the Indian Navy during Navy Week), Dubai, Muscat and Kuala Lumpur.
Sohaila Kapur has worked with some of television’s and Bollywood’s top talents in approximately 20 television serials, including ones directed by Chetan Anand, Shyam Benegal, M.S Sathyu, Satish Kaushik, Chandita Mukherjee and Jalal Agha; one national award winning feature film (Govind Nihalani’s Rukmavati Ki Haveli) and an equal number of theatrical productions, where she has worked with directors Amal Allana, Veenapani Chawla, Nadira Babbar, Tom Alter, Feizal Alkazi, Arun Kuckreja and actors like Nina Gupta, Anupam Kher, Ila Arun, Sanjana Kapoor, Sushmita Mukherjee, Javed Jafri and Satish Kaushik. She enjoys innovating in a role she has written herself.
Neeraj Yadav (Associate Director)
Neeraj is a versatile performer with experience ranging from theatre, radio to television and films. His foray into acting started with a theatre workshop in 1999, conducted by Yatrik, the oldest surviving and one of the most prominent theatre groups of New Delhi. He worked as an RJ (Radio Jockey) for over three years with All India Radio’s FM Channel and then diversified into the field of voiceovers and dubbed for international channels such as National Geographic, Fox History & Entertainment, Discovery Channel, Disney, Nickelodeon, Pogo etc. Today, he is one of Delhi’s leading dubbing and V/O artists.
Some of his on screen work has been the teleserial Rajdhani, the indie film Chai Paani Etc and Aaliya, a music album. Theatre remains his first love. He has acted in more than 35 plays in English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Punjabi and feels that nothing can beat the live experience of theatre
